I am a new member and need to identify what transmission is behind my 371 cubic inch 1960 Oldsmobile.
My previous post has been answered, thank-you to all who assisted in the identification of the engine, however I can not definitively name the transmission type so I can continue my build with the right parts.
The transmission has the following numbers cast into the top of the pan just new the selector: 4C 8618721 AL 6N29
It has a 32 spline output shaft with a overall diameter of 1.365"
Here are the images of the casting numbers and the overall transmission.
The only automatic offered by Olds in the 1960 model year was the Jetaway Hydramatic (also called the 315). It should have 14 bolts on a relatively square trans pan.
