1935 3 speed to 4 speed swap. HELP!

I want to swap the original 3 speed trans out of my 1935 Olds to a 4 or 5 speed trans. Does anyone have any info on doing this, or any ideas? Would I need to change out the bell housing completely or can I adapt the newer trans to the existing bell? Any help and ideas will be appreciated. Thank you, Dan.

Dan, is the rest of the drive train stock? Engine and rear? If so, you might find some help on this subject over at the HAMB as there are lots of older cars (not just Olds though) over there. But good luck.

You might check out the following websites. They do conversions for transmissions on older cars.
