'69 vs '68 Toronado wheel wells?

I continue to look for a replacement wheel well trim piece for the right rear of my '69 Toronado. I just located a '68 parts car and am now wondering, even though changes were made with the '69 rear end, if the '68 wheel well openings are a match to my '69? I feel the opening appears to be the same but can anyone confirm that a '68 trim piece would work on my car?

I've owned both cars. The '68 trim will work (same shape), but it's much wider than '67 or '69. The photo is of the '68 trim.
The fins on the '69 are due to the trunk & rear quarters being 3 inches longer than the '68s. The wheel opening shape did not change until 1970.

Thanks for the information regarding the fact that the '68 well trim is not an exact match for my '69....I had not noticed that the '68 piece is wider. Looks like I'll continue the search.

I may have one. Please send me a reminder this weekend and I'll check to see.

1968 was the only year they used the wider style chrome wheel trim. However, 1966, 67, and 69 all use the same smaller style chrome wheel trim. So, with all the parts people on here, you should easily find some decent wheel trim for your 69.

The 1968 and 1969 Toronado's are extremely similar, but there is more differences than allot of people realize. Unfortunately, I found this out the hard way when I was searching for replacement dash pieces for my 68 Toronado. I purchased a couple of really nice dash pieces online that came off a 69 Toro. I just assumed like most that the 68 and 69 Toronado dash panels were completely identical and interchangeable. However once they arrived I quickly realized they defiantly were diffrent. They grain patterns are extremely different. The 69 has a ruff tight coarse type of grain pattern, while the 68 has a more of a smoother artificial leather grain pattern. This is also true of the grain patterns on the lower metal portions of the dash, the cover for the optional dash mounted 8 track player, as well as for the rear shelf that is located behind the back seat...
