So let us make a list of hard to find or rare parts for toronados!!

If you had access to a bunch of toronados, or if you wanted to add or replace parts on your toronado, what parts would be the hardest to find and which options, etc. would be of the most value to find??

I will start this out even though I am not extremely familiar with them. I will leave it to the rest of you who are experts on the toros.

1) 8 track tape players. years?

2)69 rear heated glass/

3) 67-8 disc brakes.

Please add to the list.

This should be interesting if everyone will participate.

Thanks

Tim

rare parts

Unbroken Tail light lens and exspenive when you can find them. Guide 39SAE 68
I don't think the 67 had Disk brakes even as an option. But the 68 did nad they are hard to find.

67 could have disc brakes. They are the same 4-piston calipers as 68.

Good 66-7 tailpanels.

66-68 front hub bearings

66-70 rear horizontal shocks.

I'm sure I'll think of more.

Door panels for '66 Toronado, and dash-surround.
I am looking for green door panels left and right (need to be excellent) and a dash-surround/pad also in green. Car is a '66 deluxe (power windows).
Thanks, Mick

Replacement seat covers

How about a passager-side seat that relinces BACK (as well as forward)?
My gold W-34 has this, and blue W-34 from TX(I saw on Ebay) are the only Toros I have seen this option.

X's 3 on the front hub bearings for a '66! I had one for 6 months, and it sat in the air on the rack at the shop that does our mechanical work for 4 of those months, looking for a bearing! Found it at Rare Parts in California.....NOT CHEAP!

What kind of seat does that? Bucket? Strato bench? Or is their a different style?
So was this 68 70? What year cars show this option available?

Pics?? Love to see yours in action since I have never seen it before.

Ratchetmaster, I dismantled a 1966 several years ago and it had the reclining option for the passenger on a strato-bench seat. I believe the mechanism was the same as used in the A-body bucket seats with the reclining option.

1967 - 1968 Olds TORONADO

While I can't help anyone at the moment with front brake rotors -- I do have 1 set of factory brand spanking NEW in the orignal KELSEY-HAYES boxes, === 4 piston === CALIPERS..... Who needs?

I also have quite a few sets of the old "D1" or "728D1" N.O.S. Asbestos Brake Pads --- so you don't rip up these absolutely non-available rotors....

Also have the Idler and Pitman Arm (18737 & 18738 TRW) or (K5209 & K5210 MOOG) ((Both OBSOLETE)) ................

New to Classic Oldsmobile..... and you guys are going to love my parts...

Best to call me --- Craig -- 516 - 485 - 1935.....

I know where a complete 68 Tornado is. I was thinking about getting it for the motor. If there is enough interest in other parts I might get the entire car. The interior looks to be complete. There is some minor body damage to the drivers front quarter and the hood (creased). It is a southern car so shouldn't too rusty....

Let me know what to look for...

Those are actually still available through Fusick auto sales. I just bought a pair a few months... no... about a year ago now I suppose... but, they're still there. And only $60

Also, still available (ish) from o'Reily's... The motor mount at least. (Haven't checked on this.. if they are hard to find, I might order some up quick before the last dis-appear:

As for parts to add....

Flarestat components (hazard lights) (I can't seem to find these, and I want them for my '66!)
Bucket Seats/consoles for '66 (There were only like... 40-ish made I believe?)

I am finally cleaning out the barn now and have doors , hood and full radiator support (w/headlamps) for a 69.
Bumper is dinged , but usable otherwise.
Engines... I have 3 or 4 425s and a couple a 455s with transmissions to match em.
As with the TEN parts cars I just scrapped, these are all destined for the same fate.
Also have some good rebuilt radiators.

Do special body tools count as parts? I'll bet that might be a chore finding what I need of those too!

Sending units and socks for 1969 toronado gas tanks. Also the gas flap at the trunk. Repros are made for 66-68 but not 69.
