Exterior door handles

On the 66 Toro, any chance that exterior door handles from another GM car, say a 66 Impala, might fit?

I used 64-72 a-body door handles on my 68 toro. The toro rod is different, but I just bent the rods on the a-body door handles so that they catch the door latch. They work great.

So they're identical on the outside, just need to bend the inner rod to push the latch ?
