69 toronado

hi all im currently looking at 69 toronado for puchase it olny has 34000 but it comes from the north east and carries alot of rust mainly where the rear spring shackles are in the trunk area im not affraid of alittle fab work but not sure if the car is worth saving any suggestions

Sadly, this sounds like a parts car. There are no patch panels for a Toro, so you will either be hand fabricating everything or you will need to buy another to get parts off of. I'm the poster child when it comes to doing this and then building the parts car instead of the original because it was better.

If you want to do this as a learning experience, have at it, but financially it's a loser. Of course, that's never stopped me from throwing money at an ill-advised project.

Trunk rust esp around those rear spring mounts is common on 66-70 Toronado. Unless the car is a W34 or very highly optioned, prob best to leave it alone.
