Whats it worth?

Yea , I new I'd get that. Sorry i don't have any pics but i can say the car is compete as far as i could see. Theres stuff piled on top of it and its covered in dust. Its bin in the bottom floor of a barn for several years or more. Im sort of thinking of buying it but the price he is asking seems to high and then theres the missing ownership, so its just one of those things that get stuck in my mind and i just have to investigate. Thanks for your response.

I have seen several of that vintage in good driver condition languish on cl for months in the 5k range.
That said lower level of a barn covered in grime....I'd say less than 1k, and scrap is around 3-4 hundred so between 300 and 1000

$1000 worth of engine if you get lucky
Since as they say on Pawn Stars and 'Merican Pickers, you also gotta make something for your time and efforts... $300-400 seems reasonable from the buyer's point of view.
It will NOT have buyers clamoring for it as a car like say *the* indy Pace Car barn find.

Consider your plans for it. If the project turns out to be too big, do you have time to part it out? I've drug many an old car home and when I'm considering the price I'm willing to pay I consider if I have to part it out. That usually bumps the price up some as many of these cars are worth more in parts than whole. If you have the time/space/desire to take it apart you might consider this.

'68 or '69? You don't know which?
Does it run? You haven't actually said one way or the other as far as I can see. It would make a big difference. If it doesn't run, it's probably just a parts car, and the $500 to $1000 values you've been given are probably pretty good. But if it can be made to run and possibly even be driven, it's worth more. Perhaps $2000 to $3000.

500-1000 for a non running car with moderate/ major rust that is essentially parts or a rough resto candidate. 2000-3000 for a running (or can be made to run fairly easily) resto candidate. For 2-3k, I'd expect the body to be overall solid (with some minor rust through/ surface rust depending on area the car comes from, and usable trunk and floorpans), nice bumpers and decent trim, and the interior to be in pretty good shape. Make sure to check the strength of the floorpans/ trunk floor, as alot of old cars were left to sit outside for long periods of time, and the dew/ grass will eat the underbody of the car (keeps it damp).

Well , so much for that, took a look at it with a flashlight and its not good for resto . its missing the engine and trans , front seat, some other parts and its bin hit in the back. Looks like it might have some good body parts , fenders, hood and the floor didn't look to bad but it was very hard to get a good look. I didn't get any pics, just won't help anyway.
