Unknown sender on 1968 Toro

Does anyone know what this one does and what color wire. I can’t seem to find it on the wiring diagram thanks in advance… Mark

That looks like an aftermarket add on temp sensor in the manifold. The plug looks factory and probably went to the OE sender.

Thanks for that. Then unless I mount a gauge, I don’t really need it. Was there a factory plug for it or did someone drill the manifold? Thanks a million…Mark

Originally that port was used for the stock sending unit for the TEMP idiot light. A previous owner apparently removed the stock system and installed an aftermarket electric temperature gauge. This is the sender for that aftermarket gauge.

Cool, thanks a million. I have been slowly piecing this thing back together for around 15 months or so. Someone really hacked up the engine wiring harness. She’s getting there… Mark
