Side Mirror - How to Fix Remote Cable?

I have a friend with an 81 Toronado with chrome remote mirrors. There are three cables that attach to the back of the mirror and one of the cables popped out. Now the mirror moves around when he's driving it and he wants to have it fixed. I have not seen it and I am not familiar with how they attach. Can it be sodered? That is the only suggestion I can think of at this point.

If anyone has any experience with fixing this problem, please let me know. Thanks!

Soldering will not work, either the cable is broken or the attaching point is and repairing that will not be easy to repair.Replace it.

He was trying to find an NOS one to replace it with since it's a pristine car with 11,000 org miles. Cannot find one.

He was trying to figure out how to even get at the cable assembly behind the mirror, supposedly no obvious screws to remove. I'll see if I can get him to forward me a pic so I can post it.

NOS Mirror

What is the part number of the mirror he needs? I have a few NOS ones from around that time.
