removing seats in a '69

Just picked up a '69 today.
Removing a trashed interior with power seats, and I'm guessing I need to move them forward/back to get at bolts in the floor rails?

I hooked up a battery, but when I move the seat switch, I can hear a click, coming from under the driver side of the bench seat, but it doesn't move?

Is there a way to manually move them?

I really need to buy a repair manual

Thanks.

The motor drives a belt and the belt drives a cable similar to a speedo cable only much thicker...one cable drives the back and forth and the other drives up and down and if you have tilt there will be a third cable- so if you can disconnect the cable from the little transmission (unscrews same as speedo at transmission) and determine which cable does what- then you can spin the cable manually or with a drill and move the seat as required...
