questions on 307 & 350

presently on search for an 85' toronado caliente-- my understanding is that for 1984 -- 1985 there were a few optional powerplants...the 307 5.litre ---- 350--
5.7 litre -and the diesel. from what i have read it seems the 5.7 was done away with for 1985 ? is that correct ? because i would like to find one with the 5.7 gas engine if it was available...... or.... if you are a toro owner of a 84 or 85 model with the 307, i'd like some feedback as to performance and issues that you have had with your 307 motor....

also it seems some of you have had issues with the transmissions of these two particular years....again my understanding is that there were two options available....3sp auto and 4sp auto ? any opinions as to which you would prefer or any particular problems that you have encountered.

The last Oldsmobile 350 gas engine was made in the 1980 model year. The 307 was the only Olds gasoline engine built in the 1985 model year. All small block Olds motors (260, 307, 330, 350, 403) are externally identical and are bolt-in swaps for each other.
