Looking for 66' Toronado parts

Hi folks,

during my work on the Toronado I came across two areas were I need some additional help / parts:

1.) lower part of front windshield frame and of rear glass frame

2.) dashboard, the metal piece which is on top of the lower front windshield frame and below the windshield.

Both areas are badly rusted and have lots of holes... see my thread "66 Toronado frame off" in the Major built section of this great forum.

any suggestions are very welcome

thx
Harald

66 Toronado parts

Hi Harald: It is nice to hear about folks all over the world caring for Olds products. I have a 67 Toro, they are nice cars. I have a very nice rear grill the part between the window and trunk lid. I would like $125 plus shipping. I also have a nice set of rear window stainless, all 5 pieces in
excellent condition. You can reply to me at vista-cruiser@juno.com or
send a PM. I can send you many more photos. Good luck with your car. I am in Los Angeles, Calif. Trent

Thx

Trent, I may have misled you. I don't mean the window moldings I mean the body parts of the window frames front / rear.. see pics.

66 Toro

No problrm, I understand. Photos are sure helpful. I am glad to your serious efforts to restore an early Toro. I have seen metal shops where they buy generic window channels, then bent, cut weld to fit. It is a lot of work. I don;t think you will find some one with nice window channels to buy. Most have rusted because water stays in the channel... I wish you the best. Regards, trent

Harald, I don't know of a reasonable way to cut out those areas and pack and ship. It is such a funky area with all those curves, you would need to section the whole front cowl to be sure you're not left short. Same with rear. Mine ended up being crummy along the bottom of the front channel as well and the guy cut and fit new metal to weld in. If you have a good metal guy I would think it would be the cheaper way to go although I don't know shop rates overseas. I have several parts cars but its god awful cold right now. If you must go this route drop me a line direct at dead@mchsi.com and I will get some pics of those areas on the cars I have and let you be the judge. Probably better than whats on your car but not by a whole lot. It may ultimately be cheaper to find a desert car in the states and ship the whole car. Regards Pat

Hi Patrick,

my front doors are still on my "to do" list, which means they're not dismanteled and still complete.
As soon as I got some primer on the body I will address the doors. I will take detailed pics from every step.
Only thing slowing me down in the moment is the cold weather...
Did you have a look here:

regards
Harald
