Determining '85 Toronado's build date
Hello All,
Just found this site so I'm a new member! I'm looking forward to reading the threads and participating when I can. I own two Toronados ('66 Deluxe with only 33k miles and '85 Brougham) and am looking for a '71/'72 model. My immediate question regards the '85 model. I purchased it sixteen years ago from it's original owner, a client and friend, who bought it new in October of '85. I have the original sales invoice (I framed it). The car is beautiful and currently has only 51k and some change on the odometer! I've maintained it and improved its appearance as well as its mechanicals over the years so it looks and drives like a one or two year old car rather than 23 year old one. Unfortunately, the information on the sticker Olds put on the driver's door jamb at the factory is no longer legible. Moisture (humidity) and time have rendered the sticker useless in terms of extracting any info. With the car's VIN, is there a way I can find out the date of manufacture? I would very much like to know when/where the car was built.
Any help would be most appreciated!
Thank you,
Greg McDonnell
