dark blue engine paint...who's got it?

Hi Guys, I'm finally getting my engine back together from rebuild and even tho I remeber seeing posts for engine colors/paint I can't find'em now....I've seen tamrack sells light blue but my 70 is the dark blue. has anyone come up with a good match? I'll use high heat primer then switch to normal exterior color if neccesary....I've seen the AMC engine paint is sorta in the same vein but looks like too much aqua and just too strong of a color....anyone??? thanks, cliff

Advance auto parts has a color "Bahama blue" I think from Duplicolor but they hav benn going to smaller can for bigger price. It is not engine paint but performs with heat exactly as original factory paint and is exact color for some 455's like the '74 in Toronados. The original factory paint was not special for heat and put on quickly. Nothing is better than looking exactly as the factory did it!

This was completed 2 months ago using exterior colors matched from old ditzler paint chip book, I used modern automotive urethane over high heat engine primer and got both a perfect match and durability for engine applicatiom...thanks

The info I gave was not just for u mr. madman. It is for others that take a more logical approach to restoring to original specs.I wonder how good your car would have looked if u took some money from your extreme engine painting and had the bumper rechromed? Too bad so sad.

After checking out some of your previous threads I see you've already proven you're an annoying specimen...coctail hour start early and end late there? or are you really misunderstood?
