Do any of you know if the 1966 and 1967 bumpers are interchangable? Looks like it in pictures, but not sure about mounting holes, small dimensional changes and so on..

The back bumpers might interchange in either direction (66 on a 67 and verse-vise-a), but then you are going to have to use the same year tailights as well as the bumper. Might involve "wiring issues". Gets even more complicated depending on where the back-up lights are mounted (which can differ in 67 between Cutlii and F85s I think..sometimes those are on each side of the lic. plate, sometimes there are below the upper taililghts).

The front bumper from a 67 should fit on a 66, but its gonna look weird, since the raised center section is narrower to accomodate the headlights being separated by the turn signal lights on a 67. On that point, the front signal lights on a '66 are mounted in the bumber, and there is no provision for that on a 67 bumper.

I wouldn't expect a 66 bumper to fit too well on an otherwise unmodified 67 because the headlight buckets are too wide.

I must admit, I am also not sure if the bumper mounting brackets are interchangeable between 66 and 67, so you might need those as well to match the bumper.

So the short answer is that its probably not gonna work without a lot of work and further parts changes.

By the way, we are talking about A-bodies, right?!

Figures, I came to this thread via the homepage, where most recent/active threads show up and did not notice the subforum. My guess is the Toro bumpers between 66 and 67 would interchange.

 

Yeah, they should be the same. The only changes between '66 and '67 are the new grill, loss of eyebrows above headlight doors, and interior fabrics. Everything else should be the same...
