1972 Toronado

I just finished installing a new deck lid seal on my '72 tonight, it was an easy job.
Also replaced the original ground cable, the engine block end had to be done by feel and it was getting dark.
Anyone know who makes the best quality rubber products? I bought the deck lid seal from Metro and the price was reasonable and quality good but am always looking for new vendors.

I used Metro for roof rail and door seals on a 77 Toronado and do not recommend them. Try Steele Rubber, more expensive but you get what you pay for and they answer the phone when you call with a problem

I purchased a set for my 71 from a place called Steele. Very good quality . It has been several years ago but everything is holding up very well.

Thanks for the info, I'll give them a try. I have a '75 Chev K20 that needs a new door seal. I want to do the doors on the '72 Toronado too.
How do you like your '77?
I have a '72 and '83 Toronado and a '72 98 coupe. When I see a good deal on an Olds, I can't resist.
Do you have a 403 in yours?

Love my 77 Toronado. Feeling like I am driving a vehicle the size of an aircraft carrier. Mine is the 403 and was the first year for computer controlled engine timing. Mine crapped out last year and had to swap in a regular mechanical/vacuum advance distributor. Since then it has run fine.
Cars had style back then unlike all of today's look alike SUV's. Really like your 72 Toro. My neighbor around the corner has one that is immaculate and that I drool over but can't seem to get him to part with. Maybe one day.
Before you start on the roof rail and door seals for your 72 you might want to read my thread on my adventures installing the weatherstripping on my car. It might give you some ideas on what to watch out for.
Hope for your sake that you go with Steele Rubber Products and avoid the problems I have/had. When you do get around to doing them post it up here so we can see how it went and hear your comments on the process and the products.

Ok, I'll let you know how it goes.
I had a 25th anniversary 1978 Riviera once, black and silver, it had a 403 in it.
The big Olds are very relaxing to drive. At 6'4" and 260 pounds, I like to be able to stretch out when I drive.
