1968 Toronado Fuel Tank Sending Unit

Q: Does anyone know where I can find a replacement or rebuilt fuel tank sending unit for a first generation Toronado?

Man I hate to be out of commission waiting on someone to rebuild mine. I might have to do that. It would be really nice to have a working gas gauge. The gauge has been replaced, checked and tested all the wires, and the ground wire has a clean contact to the bottom of the car. So I guess this is about the only thing between me and a functional gas gauge.

You know I haven't really looked for one on eBay. Which is odd because I am a recovering eBayoholic who is constantly relapsing... ~ I wouldn't mind getting one off there for a reasonable price even if it requires me to have it rebuilt. Since I have not dropped the gas tank yet, I am a little concerned off buying the wrong one. God knows I been down that road far more times than I have wanted.

Take it out first and see what it looks like. The one in my Toronado was very different than the one in my 78 Eldorado. Someone makes stainless ones for the Toronado. Probably outlast the car

1st Gen Toronado Gas Sending Unit

Hello guys,
I have just determined that you can use the reproduction sender from a 67 Eldorado by removing the one extra ground clip. Other than that drops right in and locks with a ring. I bought mine on Ebay for $79 and am obviously very happy after being told no one makes one. I had the gas tank repaired for the same reason. Hope this helps,
Kyle
