1967 Toronado Power Brake Booster

Morning Folks - the power brake booster on my '67 with drum brakes failed. In looking for a new one, all the usual sources (NAPA, Rockauto, Partsgeek, Advance, etc.) are dried up and the thing appears to be unobtainium. Seems to be a Cardone 54-91118. Anyone got a line on one? Thanks in advance!

I think you can get these rebuilt. I'm pretty sure my Dad got mine rebuilt just a few years ago.

Fusick offers these rebuild kits. I am unsure if they will work on a Toro but it looks like it to me.

Thanks - found that earlier too, and Classic Industries also has a rebuild kit. The car is sitting at a local shop where an old-time mechanic is doing the work, so I have a call into him to see if rebuilding it is an option. Might be my only choice! Thanks again.

Hopefully he can rebuild the vacuum booster. Let us know how it goes. 🤞

If you don't want to rebuild the booster yourself, send it to a rebuilder like Booster Dewey.

Thanks for all the help. Embarrassingly, it took someone from Iowa to recommend Harmon Classic Brakes in Canton GA, who is about 35 miles from me! Dropped the booster off yesterday and it'll be ready for pickup Friday - front of the line because I'm local, no shipping times to factor in, and it'll go back in the car Friday afternoon in time for weekend cruise-ins. He bench tested it for me, confirmed it was failed (likely the internal valve) and his assistant started disassembling it then and there. Couldn't be happier.

He also shared that Booster Dewey is no longer under the same ownership as he knew Dewey personally. I got the feeling it wasn't the same level of quality and service as before, although he did not say that. Interesting.
