trunk paint
After gracefully bowing out of a reunion with my in-laws suddenly find myself with a 2 week chunk of time that isn't spoken for ....but I think I hear my 442 stirring..... and I have oh so many ?'s..... but one at a time right!
I find the interior of the trunk in my 66 442 is painted the same color as the body exterior. Now I have an original 66 "A" body whose name I won't mention ( SS 396 ) that I have had since it was a baby, 1978 and it's trunk came factory Zolotoned... are all 442 trunk interiors painted exterior body color?

Who cares about the paint, how did you manage to get out of the reunion???

TCP Global has color chip sheets and the trunk finish is listed on them.
I looked and they don't show it on the '66 sheet, it figures, but '65 and '67 have it listed so I would say it should be a fleck paint unless it's something that assembly plant did differently, may have run out of trunk paint, it did happen.
The '65 is beige-gray fleck paint and the '67 is turquoise/dark blue and gray fleck, take your choice.
I did a kitchen and the decorator came in and zolotoned everything, walls, ceilings cabinets, trim. May as well not even taped the drywall.

Not sure about '65 (ask Thunderkiss), but I'm pretty sure '66 was painted body color.
Starting in '67 they used spatter paint.
There were more than one combinations of spatter paint.
If correctness is a factor, you need to research your year to get the right one.
