Help from someone with lots of manuals

My problem is that I cannot find any other year or model Olds that have the same stone shields as my 69-98 convertible. Mine has headlight supports that are made from plastic , the same as the stone shields , and the shields bolt on at the nose and the supports. I have the 69 service manual and it does show this setup so I know it's right. I have tried getting them from a 69-88 and 70-98 convertible but they are different. Does anyone know if there are any other 69 models that are the same or any other year that I can use? So far I have not found any info.

To encourage you to keep at it. My '69 88 had the same configuration and it was a 2DR hardtop, so I know they are out there. Good luck.

The ones you have don't look all that bad aside from what appears to be some somewhat minor appearing issues with plating. If you just need a re-chrome you might want to take a look at the rather inexpensive and easy to use kits you can get from Caswell Plating ( http://www.caswell.com ). Might be a faster way to get to where you need to go.

Sorry, I hadn't checked this out sooner for you, Wolfman98. '69 98s are it. Not surprisingly. Back then quite a bit of difference from year to year.
I agree with Texascarnut that yours look quite serviceable. There's no "chrome" on any of it is there? If not, no need to get plated even. Plastic fill and sand to shape as needed. Then paint with the correct color silver (argent, is it??). Works great, and small flaws not even visible when installed.

Olds 350-360-380; PN 401742-right; PN 401743-left; 69 only! So your car is a 380 and the others are 88's, so any '69 88 or 98 will fit your car...

Smile Thanks

Thanks for the reply's it helps to know what I should be looking for. The left one is missing the piece that attaches to the nose and the right one is missing a small piece close to where it attaches to the support for the headlight. If both sides were whole then I could fix them but both sides are missing pieces so I thought I would see if anyone had some that were complete regardless of the condition as they can be fixed.

I agree with Kurt. They look plenty good for re-use. The best color I have found for this use is Krylon Dull Aluminum.
