Badge

I saw an ad for this Hurst Equipped badge that said they were installed on 60-70's muscle cars that had Hurst shifters. Were the badges installed by the factory, dealers or the owner? I really like the badge but I am trying to go back 100% correct.

Those were attached by the owners. You got one when you bought a shifter similar to the Accel, Moroso, Holley, etc decals that came in the box with go-fast parts.

The original 1960s versions are metal. Most of the new ones are peel-and-stick plastic, though you can buy metal ones also. No, they were never factory installed.

Thanks! My 69 442 came with the Hurst competition plus shifter from the factory so I dont guess that the badge would have been applied.
