1970 w-31
I have a 70 w31 block thats been rebuilt I was going to put it in my rallye 350 but have decided to go with a rocket 350 instead which it came with. I know who owns the car that my w-31 originally came from. my question is : What is this engine worth to the owner of this car ? I want to be fair yes, but I also want to make sure I get full value.

No just the block, I had it rebuilt back in 86', just now able to finish car, life kinda got in the way. Anyway the fact that I didn't have the balancer, carb, intake etc is what prompted me to reconsider putting it in, as you know they are almost impossible to find and pricey! I have other people interested but I really think it belongs in this car, just have to come up with a fair $ amount

That's why I'm here, to get a fair value but obviously this engine is worth more to the original car,so shouldn't that reflect in the price ? wouldn't his car be worth more with the original engine?

If it was me and I was willing to sell the motor for $500. I would sell it to anyone for that price. I couldn't sell it so somebody else for more just because I thought I could. I would rather sell it the original car. Just to make one more correct car on the road. I might even make that guy a better deal.

$1000
In this situation I feel that a sum of $1000 is fair to both seller & buyer. Both parties need to benefit.
