Why does it lean?

I have a 68 442 convertible and as long as Ive owned it it the driver side was a little lower than the pass side. I recently put on a complete Hotchkis tvs system and its better but still slightly leans on the driver side. Ive seen other cars do the same. Whats the deal? Thanks! Steve

Haha, you should see mine. It has a horrible lean and a crack in the windshield from all the repeated launches. In its defense, it only has 1 air bag in the rear though.

I'd examine your body mounts. Driver's side tends to go bad because of the driver being on that side most of its life.

One of those 'air-conditioning' hard rubber spacers will make it look right, until you can get to the mounts!
Nephew's '69 Cutlass has the opposite side problem - seems the crossmember's bent!?!

I can get you some solid mounts milled up from Brian for about 6 bucks a piece.

my dad had got a 70 W-30 used around 1989 that was that way and my Rallye 350 was that way when i got it in 1990. they were both that way till we changed the springs. every time i see it, it is always the driver side.

I always thought mine was lower on the driver's side, but I never measured it..It just felt that way...

One thing I did read in a post somewhere : Check the rear upper (frame) spring/shock mount(s). Air shocks were put on a lot of old A-bodies... If the shocks were pumped up hard and the car beat on, it would hammer on, and could eventually bend, the upper mount plate....
