Bilstein b6 shocks

I have a 1976 olds cutlass supreme and I definitely need shock absorber upgrading. KYB and Belstein are the top two apparently.

KYB shock absorber gas a just vs Bilstein b6
any advice? Right now the front end is all over the place, very boat like. Definitely looking for a firmer ride with better handling
thanks

What condition is the rest of your front suspension and steering in?

The car has 50,000 original miles. I greased the front end, the car drives straight. The shocks are not original, but they are a low quality brand

I just put a set of Belstein on my truck. First time for me to use them. I am VERY happy with them so far.

I have Bilstein’s on both of my F150’s, great shocks.

If you are just looking to firm up the ride and are budget minded then KYB Gas-A-just are the shock to get. If you are road racing or just want bragging rights, get the way more expensive Bilsteins.

Bilstein's B6 series is their performance line. Those will be stiffer than the KYB. Either one is a fine choice.

Look at Koni street series - (orange body) - much prefer those over KYB

Your reason? (I'm curious about both brands)

I've had both on GM A-bodies - the KYBs I had softened up noticeably after only about 8-10k miles. The Koni orange-body Street Series shocks I subsequently had maintained their road feel to a measurably better degree over the same basic mileage range under similar mixed driving conditions. All here in FL where roads are generally clean and free of major surface issues, So for me, the KYB's were a disappointment. Your results may vary however.
