1972 Cutlass S Rallye Susp Coil Springs

I have been reading many post on coil springs and still not sure what I actually need.
The car is a 1972 Cutlass S, 2 door, 350 4bbl, th350 transmission, rallye susp (fe2) and air conditioning. Please point me in the right direction on springs.

I replaced both the front & rear springs (1971 CS 350) with springs from UMI Performance. Very happy w/ the quality, stance & ride.

I believe Moog 5385 for the rear and either 5372 or 5398 for the front would be correct standard options for your model

Summit Racing, Jegs, Rock Auto, etc all stock them to my knowledge.. Ebay may be another good source for decent pricing

I see a lot of guys saying 5536 for the front and 5409 for the rear. Whats the consensus on these?

I have 5536 up front and they are great - firm but still provide a smooth comfortable ride quality. Interestingly, the front ride height was the same as with the original 40+ year old sagging springs.

Thanks Fun71 for replying. So did the 5536 put the ride height at the 9 5/8?

I have the 5536 up front of my car but it's a ragtop so I believe a bit heavier than your S. Also running a 350/TH350 combo but my motor has aluminum intake and Vintage Air, all shaving some weight off the front end and maybe getting it closer to yours ultimately.

5536 are great springs - have been on my car for 6+ years with no issues.

Used to run 5415 springs in the back, which gave the rear about a 1" or so lift above stock - great insurance if you're running larger (or wider) sized rubber out back. Just recently went back to the 5385 though and they easily clear my 245-50-17 tires, even with a 1" spacer pushing the wheels out for a staggered look.

Whatever springs you get for the rear, don't forget new rubber spring insulators for the top-to-floor mount

Here's a post from 2014 with the ride height information I measured on my car with 5536 front and PST "442" rear springs.
If you look at the first post in the link, there is info on where to measure.

And my car sits perfectly level from side to side. How about that.

Remember my car does not have factory size tires, so these measurements won't match the CSM even if the springs are the correct height.

edit: trunk has a spare, jumper cables, Sears scissor jack, a gallon jug of water, a car cover, and manila folder with some car show papers.
Prolly not enough weight to make any difference.
