1966 Dynamic 88 upper ball joints

Good afternoon, gents. I have a mystery I was hoping someone could clarify. Upon removing the upper ball joints from my 66 Dynamic, it appears that the left side and right side BJs are different. Not radically different, but certainly different enough to constitute different part numbers / styles. Did the Dynamic have different upper ball joints on the right and left sides? Both sides had identical factory rivets, and the bushings and pivot arm were original, so I don't think anybody ever replaced these.

Also, does anybody know a source for the 66-70 B-body upper ball joints? I think Buick large bodies of this era had very similar suspensions, but I can't find ball joints for those either. Thanks in advance for any info.

The 1965-70 full size upper ball joints are RH/LH. The only source for new ones is Rare Parts. The other places that sell them (like Kanter) are simply reselling the Rare Parts items at a markup, so go to the source. Last time I checked they are something like $177 each. You can sometimes find NORS replacement ball joints (TRW, McQuay-Norris, or Moog) on ebay or from Craig at Mobileparts. I might have cleaned him out, however.

Thanks to Craig Stanley at Mobileparts

I just wanted to follow-up on this thread and send a big THANK YOU to Craig Stanley at Mobileparts. He provided the rare b-body upper ball joints and they are perfect. What an interesting guy too. A project is always better when you make a new friend in the process.

Thanks also to Joe Padavano, truly the encyclopedia of all things Olds.
