Recently I purchased a full front end suspension kit for my 63 Olds Cutlass.
It included the 2 lower and upper ball joints.
Although the existing ball joints seem relatively ok, (there is a tiny bit of play and the dust boots have been split for quite some time), while I had everything apart, I was going to replace all 4 joints.

Problem is, the upper joint doesn't appear to be removable.
The original service manual mentions that "if it the upper joint is worn, you need to replace the entire arm"?

Does anyone know if this is true?
If so, I'm not sure why I received upper joints in my kit?

I've never paid attention to the upper ball joints but if there aren't any rivets to drill out then that may be the service procedure
