1955 olds handling

hi all,has anyone replaced the swaybars and shocks for better handling that are better than the stock items?if so what brand and where to get them thanks

I just run the shocks that are listed in the Fusick catalog I think they are private labeled Gaberals. Other than that she is stock. It handles like a 60 year old car should handle, she is a cruiser not a sports car..... Tedd

It will be difficult for you to get parts in NZ in the first place. You might inquire if there are specialty shops locally that could repair your shocks.

There might be a $15,000 custom frame available for that body but if that's out of your price range start with some much stiffer springs all around.
Then get some gas shocks for all four corners. Those cars had no rear sway bar and a very skinny front bar, if it had one. Start with Addco and see if they have a sway bar kit.
I'd go at least 1" front and 3/4" rear bars. Finally some 70 series radial tires.
