suspension on 69 442

Have a 69 Sport Coupe, would like to redo the entire suspension. I have looked at after market kits that seem to have everything needed. Is there some better than others? Any suggestions? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

MOOG and only MOOG ---- For "stock" Front Ends --
more expensive than the chinkily - made garbage --
but well worth it -- once for life.....

Welcome to the site, how you do your front end depends on what your looking for. What are you planning to do with your car, just cruise, road rally, drag strip?

Looking to mostly cruise, maybe race a buddy or two, no serious track racing. At least not for now.

Then I would just replace the worn parts with Moog. You can either buy them from your local auto parts store or internet venders like Rockauto. All are readily available.

Moog had 3 springs listed. One for stock front & 2 for a/c cars. One was a more heavy duty spring & the other it was lost between the heavy & stock. I took the lighter of the a/c springs & they worked great. OldCutlass(Eric said he used the heavey modle & i raised his car a lot. The middle raised about an inch & look just right for a stock car.

We need pictures for the before and after stance. post the part number of the springs you used so others can see the results.

The suspension is the same as on a Chevelle. There are a bazillion options ranging from stock rebuild to full aftermarket frames. Your goals and your wallet are the only limits.

Sorry, I just reread the post & it was asking about springs for a 69 442. Mine is a 67 Cutlass. My mistake. But I do have part # for front springs for the 67. Sorry no pictures.
Moog lists 3 front springs. 5234 load 2025lbs. 5244 load 2124lbs, 5272 load 2279lbs.
5244 & 5272 are both listed for a/c cars. I used the 5244 & it brought the front up just right. Obviously not much use without pictures.

Seconded. The only way to go. Has the added benefit of protecting your investment by keeping the car closer to factory.
