Steering Column
My original steering wheel is junk. I will have to use an aftermarket wheel. Not sure of the length of the steering column.
Chevelle OEM floor shift automatic columns may be the same as yours and if they are, you can search the web for Chevelle replacements such as

NPD (National Parts Depot) may also have remans for it (just as pricey though)...

This is probably the route I'll be going. I doubt I'll find a used factory column for le$$. I want to keep my big N34 wheel that is still in great shape.

Ya they don't collapse. The column I ordered was for a 68 no ignition switch floor shift car...C3 Vette.
I look at that as the wheel will kill you if the impact is that hard, regardless of the collapsible column.
Might as well go out in a blaze of glory vs being stuck in this country's horrible long-term health care system uh...options that WILL bleed you out quicker than a poke from the column.
You will need the aluminum hub adaptor for the faux wood wheel.
I called them to make sure I got exactly what was needed. I did have to monkey with the horn contact, but very minor.
I think it needed better insulation to avoid activating the horn circuit.

Thanks for pointing that out, Joe. Is this why this listing for this column mentions only Chevy and Pontiac applications (although it does list a '68 442 buried deep in its applications list)? I'm not at all surprised the description and applications lists are inconsistent and incorrect, I'm currently dealing with a similar situation with a trailer light harness for our Genesis.
