Questions. 1970 Cutlass Supreme Hotchkis Sway Bar Setup.

Looking to add sway bars front and rear to my 1970 C/S. Way more body roll than I want. Going down the rabbit hole led me to this thread. I really like what @turquoise67 did with his 67.

After looking at Summit it looks like his set up ( here ) would also work on my 1970 but what I couldn't determine was whether or not the 1803a here is correct. Checking fit by clicking Cutlass Supreme shows its not compatible but it actual shows that is compatible in the list. Maybe just an error? Anyone know if that's correct or if anyone has any experience with adding sway bars I'm open to comments or suggestions.

Wow, Hotchkis stuff is expensive. Consider UMI suspension parts, cheaper than Hotchkiss, track proven and UMI techs very active on Chevelle forum answering suspension related questions. Made in USA.
I have UMI on 2 of my cars and QA1 on 1, very happy with both.

Thanks. I'll take a look at UMI. Which Chevelle forum if you don't mind me asking. I hate to bring Olds stuff to a Chevelle forum but maybe I can DM a tech or email one by name.

I looked hard at the Hotchkis stuff because I know they're solid and typically have little to no fit issues. I don't mind paying more if its going to give me less issues.

I use UMI, as well. Solid & reputable company. There are small differences between what you've posted & what I installed, but it might be a worthwhile read for you (prices, part numbers, etc.).

Read through both of those. Really appreciate the links. That definitely looks like a much more affordable solution for what I want to do.

@Vintage Chief I think your list is all applicable to my 70. I'll probably just go down your list and order what you linked. Very helpful.

Neither of you felt the need to replace the front sway?

I replaced the front sway bar bushings - all that was needed.

X2, replaced bushings and end links. If your not going to do serious motor crossing or road rallying, the UMI is perfect for the cruiser.

The thought had crossed my mind on just needing the rear sway. Do I understand correctly that most of the body roll I’m experiencing is due to the lack of a rear sway and not an insufficient or inadequate front sway.

I replaced the front swaybar on my 70 Supreme convertible and noticed a considerable difference even without a rear swaybar. The front sway bar is a 1 1/4 bar from a 70s TransAm. This may be a cheaper option for you. I have since installed a factory rear swaybar.
