Looking to lower my car, tell me your setup

Hi Everyone

I have a 69 442. Im looking to lower my car and get the stance to where I like it.

Please post pictures and tell us about your setup (springs/shocks, drop spindles etc) and how you find it.

Im just trying to make an informed choice before I lay out the cash. Thanks

Moog 7501 (or 7509, I forgot) with Viking 2301 in back on a 275/60 and CPP drop spindles, KYB and Moog up front on a 215/70

I think the easiest way to dial in the front is with coil over springs/shocks.
They offer 2-3 inches of adjustment. I’m fond of Viking.

Theres about .5” difference between the pictures.

How have you found the Vikings? I had a quote from UMI, they seemed good to deal with.

Both cars look great!

Aldan American coilovers for my recent 71 Olds 442 build. Lots of adjustability to work with with various tire and wheel sizes.

I’ve used UMI for the rear control arms on 2 cars. I generally like the brand…
‘But I don’t have any experience with their coil overs.

So far I’ve used Viking on my 70 and one 65.
They seems great. Good ride quality…but sometimes I’ve found they recommend a stiffer/heavier spring than needed.

Nice looking car
How did you find the handling with the Aldans? Also what is the size of the wheels you are using in this photo?

Handling is great.....for more suspension info....check out my build in the link below. Post #96 talks to the wheels and tires.....

On the wheels and tires...here are the sizes I was able to use without issue:

Front Rims: 15x8 Billet Specialties Win Lite
Front Tires: Mickey Thompson Sportsman 27x8x15

Rear Rims: 15x10 Billet Specialties Win Lite
Rear Tires: 28x10x15 Mickey Thompson Sportsman

The rear wheels and tires are pretty wide but fit nicely with the 5/5" backspace
