Whatever you do, don't put any grease on those threads before installation. Life might be easier later for someone. [/sarcasm]
I just put front shocks into the Vette frame last night, used silicone grease on the rubber to metal areas and greased the threads.

FYI, with the upper control arms off, it's MUCH easier to access those shock nuts.
