Help with rear sway bar

I purchased a 1969 442 with a Jegs ladder bar installed for the strip. Apparently the rear seat bar had to be removed in order to install the ladder bars because i have no rear sway bar. Is there a recommended replacement for this or a source for factory correct rear sway bar?

If those are the Lakewood style ladder bars, lose them. They only help in a straight line. If you go around corners at all, the cause the rear suspension to bind up. Get boxed lower control arms and a stock style (or larger) rear bar.

Thanks

Thanks Joe. I have the stock boxes lowers but no away bar. Any ideas on where to find one?

If your going to remove the ladder bars, you can use a number of sources for both stock and aftermarket sway bars. I would not try to run both.

Parts place has both the "factory" 7/8" sway bar & some aftermarket ones. The factory style is $119 they also have the mounting kits (shims & bolts) for $14

Another option - Summit Racing has a 1" rear bar of their own name brand which bolts right up - I use it on my '72 Cutlass with UMI tubular rear control arms and it's all a bolt-in setup which works very well in combination the larger front sway bar I use (1-5/16 also from Summit).
