Can anyone identify the rear shocks/springs on the 69 Cutlass S I’m buying? Main springs look stock. Not sure if these are considered coil overs or spring assisted shocks. It does have a level ride hight and feels very firm.

 

Those are coil assist shocks, probably Gabriel 43060 or AC Delco 5195.

 

The operative term is "aftermarket". Nothing special, these were common and readily available from many sources. You can buy them brand new today. The photo is from Monroe.
