Front Coil Springs 65 442 conv. / MOOG

Need new front coils for my iron headet 455/ 65 442 conv.-
anyone use moogs like 5244 or 5272.

I must order from Summit so only MOOG Springs is an option.

MOOG 5244
-Install Height------Load----Spring Rate--------Free Height
---- 11-------------2124--------315----------------17.75

MOOG-5272
-Install Height------Load----Spring Rate--------Free Height
--11.00--------------2279---------327---------------17.99

We want to install E-Bay front tubular A-Arms which lower the front end approx- 1" but we donīt want that the tires rub with the drop, so we play with idea to use the 5272 Moog which are with AC.

Will AC Springs raise the front end or only be stiffer if installed...

You need tangential ends, which these have. However, the original spring rate was 425 lb/in I believe. I don't believe Moog has ever sold correct replacement coils for the pre-68 442s.

Are you sure about the 425 lb/in... ??
Detroit Spring sell the fronts with 327 lb/in
for "65 442 convertible cars with & without/AC Standard Duty"

I used the Moog 5272 and it raised my front end considerably which is what I was after.
