1972 Olds Cutlass LCA's?

How do I know if I have round or oval LCA bushings on my 1972 Olds Cutlass S Sport Coupe, without having to first remove them?

I want to use Del-Alum bushings, but they only come in a round style for the LCA's. I assume I should just buy a set of 68-72 round bushing LCA's from a chevelle or another A body.

Does anyone have any 68-72 UCA's and LCA's (round bushing) that they want to get rid of?

Rockauto will be your best bet.

And if you mean your lower front suspension A-Arms. Then yes, One is round (front), one is oval (towards the rear), and you cannot just use two round ones...

I have the same car. I'm putting in boxed rear OEM' lower rear CAs so I just looked at them. They're both round.

Ive read that cars came w either the round or the oval bushings Ive not read where its definitive as to year or model

I *think* the only way to tell for sure is take it apart

I saw I think parts place or somewhere else sold the oval bushings as a set of two so you could buy the 4 rounds and two ovals to cover all the bases !

Allan manny is asking about the front LCAs

Manny I will give you my old UCA bushings no charge

Front Arm LCA's

Everyone thanks for the replies. I think I'll get an extra set of front LCA's that accept round bushings for the front and back. Now I just need to find a used set. Anyone Anyone Anyone???

Also, I assume I can buy any front, rear suspension and steering part from a 68-72 chevelle that will work on my car???

I just realized that I had a spare set of 69 Camao Front LCA's, but are they the same as the 68-72 front LCA's ?

Ok, now I got it. Manny the LCAs use 2 types of bushings - round and oval. I think the Moog number is 5149 on those. Have a look at this thread. It will show you what you're looking for. https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...tml#post290179

Manny, the LCAs are pretty much the same for these for a lot of years. Just press out the bushings and replace them. If I can do it, you can too. Why spend money on new LCAs when its just a bushing replacement you need? I could be wrong, but if you want round bushings you might need to change to tubular CAs and I don't know how much modification that would need.

I had the same dilemma (I had oval ones - I was going to use the GW del-a-lums, but decided to go with ES poly bushings instead)... and since my arms were all pitted anyway, I bought a decent set from G. Lever @ http://www.leverfamilysite.com/controlarms.htm

Well dog my cats! I didn't realize there were 3 different versions of the LCA that look pretty much the same. Good info, thx.

I also need to call Global West to determine if the GW bushings that I have will work with the 72 Olds LCA's (At least for the front bushing since it's round).
