A couple questions

Does six inches play in the (power) steering wheel on my '65 cutlass mean my gearbox is shot?

Also, when selecting replacement coil springs, how much difference would a 455 vs a 330 make in the heith of the car?

Thanks, Wilson

It means something's shot!
Crawl under there and have a helper move the wheel back and forth quickly, and look for loose connections.
That's not safe to drive!

Can't say for your specific model, but in my general experience, about 1-2".
