1972 Cutlass varying alignment! Help!!!!

I have a 1972 Cutlass. I have replaced every suspension and steering component. I have had it aligned 4 times. On flat ground it tracks true and smooth! When I go through a dip in the road, the suspension compresses as it should, the tires point inward and squeal. When I extend the suspension, by going over a hill, the tires pigeon toes and squeal!!!! I have six mechanics look at and they cannot see anything out of the ordinary. I had the alignment done while suspension was under normal load and with load off, no change. I am at my wits end. Please help, criticize, ask questions, I have no pride. Just help

Sounds like your getting pretty bad "bump steer" which is toe change on suspension compression. It's usually caused by modifications to suspension components. As far as you know is all the components stock? Even if not the only real method for checking it is no spring installed and go through the suspension travel from ride height to un-loaded and loaded while monitoring toe. Usually minimized by adjusting the height of each tie rod to get the least amount of change in toe during suspension travel.

The only performance part I have installed is a heavier duty sway bar. The springs, shocks, a-arms, ball joints, tie rods, etc, are all stock. It was doing this same thing before. That is why I rebuilt it. You can clearly see the tie rods pushing in and out as you slowly compress or extend the suspension. Do you think it could be the stabilizer bar?

You can try un-hooking the ends of the bar and drive it but a sway bar would not cause a toe change over bounce and re-bound. Do you actually know what your toe is changing when suspension compresses and re-bounds or are you just assuming?

Sounds like something that's supposed to be rigid is flexing. Big block in a small block car making the K frame flex? Yes I know K frame is a Chrysler word.

The frame is the same for every Olds motor. This is not a problem.

Very interesting.
I wish he would have put the OEM and GW arms side by side for visual comparison.
I have to refresh suspension again. These will go in.

Here's a silly question. Is it possible that the upper control arms got swapped side-for-side when it was put back together? There is no way for the toe to change that much over the range of suspension travel with the stock suspension and steering setup. Post some photos.

I'm not sure you could even do that. Could be possible the frame is tweaked as well. Pictures and if he has a print of the alignment done might help. There are parts of the alignment such as toe out in turns that are used to determine if frame or other damage is present when doing the alignment.

You can swap the uppers, but not the lowers. It also isn't possible for the stock suspension and steering to cause that much toe change over the range of suspension travel, so if that's really what's happening there are incorrect or damaged parts installed.

What if the OP has the wrong centerlink? That could move the tie rod pickup points enough to cause bumpsteer issues or maybe the wrong steering arms? Pictures would help.

That is one of several possible incorrect parts. That's why I said this:
