1965 f85 econ-o-way v-6?
Hey Guys,
We're parting out a 1965 F85. It's got an ECON-O-WAY V-6. Is this engine a well sought after motor? .....not sure if it's worth pulling out and rebuilding for resale or not.
Any input is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Keith

Pretty sure that is the "odd-fire" Buick V6, not a bad motor, but not known for being esp. powerful or for running very smoothly. I think my Dad's old Jeep Commando used the same basic motor. Probably not too many people looking for one, but if you find that right person...
Its worth pulling but I'd sell it as is. Then the buyer can have it built to suit his needs. Looks like a lot of good stuff on that car. The trim and what not is hard to find in decent shape. You'll have quite a pile of good stuff when your done stripping it.
Looks like as mentioned earlier a Buick odd-fire V-6. They were 225 cubic inches and later became the 231 cubic inch. They were also used in marine applications and rated at 155hp in the marine applications.
My experience was they were rugged and lasted a long time.
