Valve Cover Breather hole diameter

Can anyone tell me the diameter of the hole in the original 350ci valve covers? When I measured I got about 1.125" but Summit skips right from 1.000" up to 1.220 & 1.250"

I believe the standard is 1.25.

Will I have to remove the original grommet to get the new breather to fit?
