#5 heads rebuild

anybody know of a good place to get some #5 heads machined?, was given some by a friend of my dad and thought about keeping them rather than make a few bucks i think they would go nicely in my cutty. i live in the norther los angeles area, any help would be grear, also to know about how much to expect to pay.

Jeremy, You might check with any local guys that you know. Perhaps someone on the board is local too.

I would guess..you could spend somewhere from 600-to a grand or more. It just depends, mostly on how good your cores are and what your goals are. Oh..and how much of this are you willing and able to do as for as installation is concerned..

Take the time to do your home work on these iron heads. You just might meet or come to the conclusion that new aluminum heads are the way to go.

Take this form a guy who has attemped to build a set of iron heads for his BB only to find out....I might have made a better choice, when the pocket book comes to mind.

Anyways good luck.

ill pick them up tomorrow or monday and post a few pictures, i'm not running a crazy cam or anything nor do i have the money but if i could turn a decent profit by machining them then i have the money to invest as long as its an easy return.

Actually the #4 heads probably flow a little better than the #5 heads in stock form and they might even have a slightly smaller combustion chamber.

Never had a set of #5 heads in my hands, so this is only second hand information.
