Ram Rod 350 question

Question Ram Rod 350 question

Hi ya'llllllll
I saw a pic pn craigslist of a ram rod engine and it had 395558 2 on it
well the engine in my car does too. It has #6 heads though.
questions are
Is this a ram rod hermorphidite?

Is there anyhting special about the ram rod block or pistons or anything?


if it is a ram rod should i try to aquire #5 heads for it?

i always thought the pulley and balancer were gigantic on this engine haha....

same block and the heads whether 5 or 6 will have the big valves for any w31. Also flat top pistons and yes the harmonic is different as is the pulley, extends further. I am sure a w31 guy will chime in.

1) If you have to ask, yours is NOT a Ram Rod.
2) All Olds 350s, from the low compression 2bbl to the Ram Rod/W-31 motors used the same block and head castings in a given year.
3) The differences are all internal - flattop pistons for higher compression, bigger valves, and a more radical cam.
