sbo valve swapping

Thinking of doing a budget valve job.

Anyone swap bigger valves out of a big block or another motor?

Is it possible to change the height

I paid $143 for a complete set of 2.000"/1.625" W31 size valves (Si Portflows) for my 350. Got them from 'thevalveguy' on eBay.

IIRC, I was quoted $250 by BTR Performance to put the bigger valves in. There is more to it than that though... guides, springs, extra machining, etc.

The heads are the one thing I am definitely NOT cheaping out on, even if it takes months to save up $$ for it.

Serdi performance valve job $250.00
Machine for .500 solid bronze guides and hone $170.00
Assemble/set spring hts/cut spring seats $70.00
Mill deck minimum and exhaust surface minimum $150.00

My competition valve job on my current heads ran 1000 but that's everything new and some bowl work. My old heads just a simple clean up and re use my olds valves with new guides etc cost 380 at rocket racing I ran 13.86 with my old combo bone stock heads and bottom end just a towing cam, edelbrock intake headers and some tunning did great
