307 wont run

Posting for a friend of mine.
He has an 87 442 that he took to a shop and had an intake gasket installed. When he went to pick it up it wouldnt start. He brought it home and it has only 30# of compression in all the cylinders. My first thought was timing chain jumped. He had a new timing chain and gears installed by someone else, and it still doesnt run, and still only has 30# of compression.
Any ideas?

Extremely odd, 30 psi in all is bad. Did the guy who did the timing chain know what he was doing? It seems like it is completely out of time with so low compression on the cyls. This is my only guess.

The timing chain on your friends car wasn't put on the right way, tell him to go to the shop that installed it and explain that to them, get them to pay for the tow and pay to fix it the right way.

How can you bring a car to be repaired, and then "pick it up" (presumably with a tow truck) afterward, no longer running?!?
