I got my little hands on a nice Moroso 20480 7 quart oil pan for my 330

I have a high volume oil pump but I read on the interent that a guy who has built a few Olds 350's uses stock volume pumps because the HV pump over oils to top end if you do not use oil restirctors. I'm not planing on using them, but I will be using a oil pan baffle

Pretty much a stock engine. Putting on a few "bolt-ons" Engine will be used in a street/strip car

 

There won't be overoiling if the lifters are correct Olds design. Get the Melling 22HV if you want. No reason to use the big pan and pump if you are staying all stock.

 

I already have the Melling HV pump in my closet.

I know it's not necessary with a pretty much stock engine, but I was never comfortable running my 350 at high RPM's with a stock set-up. It will just make me feel better. Plus I'll already have it on the motor

 

Put the big pump and pan on it if you want but forget the restrictors.

 

I threw the HV oil pump and larger pan on the motor yesterday. 7 quart pan. No oil restrictors.

Should be fine on a motor that is going to be "Street/Strip" Right?

I notice that the 307 I have now runs at high 50's psi when I start the car, it does drop to low 20's at idle when warmed up. With the high pressure yellow spring in the pump, what kind of oil pressure am I looking at?

 

50 psi cold 20 psi when idling warm is fine, more importantly you should have around 40 psi when you are driving with a warm engine.
More pressure is more load for the engine albeit a slight one, it may be worthwhile to protect your engine if you are going to punish it on the dragstrip though.
oil flow is more important than absolute pressure, a high volume pump addresses that concern.

The 307 oil psi is about 40 while cruising. It's hard to be exact because I have a stock oil gauge in there from a 80 Delta. It's between 30 and the slash between 30 and 60 which I would think is 45

On a side note. my ALero with a 3400 V6 oil psi is about 30 to 32 at cruising
