MSD not working
MSD not working
I have the olds 403 and im using the 6al box and msd pn8566 distributor. No gauges or ignition key hooked up and Im trying to fire the engine from outside the car just to make sure it runs. Orange wire from 6al is going to + on blaster 2 coil and black is going to - on coil. Green/violet wires from 6al box seem to be dummy proof and plug directly into distributor. Heavy black wire from 6al is going to - on battery and heavy red to + on battery. Directions say white wire not used so its just disconnected. Battery is grounded to engine. The last wire from 6al box is the the red ignition wire and that is going to + on battery. Not sure if this is right? Engine turns over fine but I just have no spark. I pulled a plug and turned engine over and didnt see any spark. help please!

Unplug the green/violet connector from the distributor. With all the power hooked up, take the white wire and touch it to ground, then take the white wire away from ground. If everything else is correct it should spark, if not it's the box, if it does it's probably the distributor. By touching the white wire to ground then away from ground you're simulating the triggering of the box.
Good luck.
Good luck.
