Putting on fuel pump...eccentric...wtheck is that?

Is it just supposed to slide in there and fit perfectly? I'm just hitting something at the very back and it's not going on flush. do I bolt it on until it's tight against the block? or is it supposed to fit just right?

How do you get the fuel pump in there and manuver around the eccentric?. I'm off by ab 1/8th of an inch.

What are the tricks to doing it? eccentric means nothing to me BTW.

I need a you tube vid for this

thanks!

Hmmm, seems something is wrong in Denmark..... On an Olds V8 the eccentric bolts to the large timing gear that bolts to the cam. The front cover needs to be removed. The arm on the fuel pump rests against the eccentric. You may need to turn the cam to get the arm on the low spot to bolt the fuel pump on easily.

Ok, you are just wanting to know how the fuel pump mounts....I guess I read too much into it...yes turn the engine some and when you reach the low spot on the eccentric the fuel pump will go right in.

Or, don't turn the engine and just push in harder on the fuel pump so you compress the internal spring enough to get the fasteners started.
