I know its gold...
... and thats about it.
Please help me identify my engine. Its in a 1967 cutlass supreme convertible. Number on the front of the engine is 3944173. I think the car came with a 330 jetfire v8, but I know engine work had been done on this car.
Was my engine replaced or rebuilt?
What headers should I use, cuz there is not much clearence in that area?
Thanks,
Patrick

According to the oldswiki it is a 330 from 66-67.
id 3 - '66-'67 - 330 - 394417 - 39° cam bank angle.

Checking car's serail and eng stamps wil show if it is the original. It could be replaced with the same engine model or rebiult, or untouched.
Some one else can advise about headers....

Unfortunately, not on a 67. The VIN-derivative stamp on the block was not used until the 1968 model year. If you have the Protect-O-Plate, you can match the engine unit number to the VIN, but that just proves that one head is original.
Thanks y'all, for all of the info. I was sure that it was the 330. I know that my uncle has done some work to the engine, I will just have to ask him.
What about the headers? I want to replace the whole exhaust system and that is where I'm starting... that and the muffler with the hole in it.
What would fit on my baby? There dosen't seem to be much room there to play with.
