Valve cover gaskets?

Hello,
Does anyone make the rubber type with the steel core. I used that type on my 350 chevy and they seem to not leak.
Do they produce this for the Olds 350? If so, does anyone have a part# .
Mine leak, I snugged up the bolts, and it stopped for all of a week or two. They need to be replaced.
If no rubber type with steel core. What is a good thick cork set?
Thanks for your time.

Lots of choices to go along with different preferences. Plenty of discussions have been had. If you want the best, try calling Bernard Mondello, maybe SCE for clarification whether their gaskets fit under stock valve covers or search for Perma Dry Plus with the T suffix but they’ve become rare. I sold a few sets recently & they got snapped up in no time.

You don’t have to have the “fancy” gaskets but they’re pretty much 100% sure bet against leaks and can be reused countless times if necessary.

I thought their was a magic bullet but couldn’t remember what it was! The Cometics noted below. Pay a little extra, get a superior gasket, buy them once for life.

Unfortunately those have been out of production for quite a while now.

The Cometic gaskets are the same style as the nice FelPro's - plastic with raised silicone seals. Note that they;re sold by the single piece - not pairs - and they're pricey.
Several Olds vendors have steel core rubber covered gaskets. I think Summit even carries one now.

I believe the Cometic C15440 is a copy of the discontinued Felpro rigid carrier valve cover gasket. They are about $50 US a set. There are also other cheaper rubber with steel core on Ebay. I have set I got from Rocket racing, looks like the Ebay ones. I have reused them multiple times.

I cant remember for sure but it seems you could get Fel Pro VC gaskets for Olds V8 with the steel in it by ordering TC after the #. XXXXX= part #- XXXXXTC- number for tough core??..maybe not now a days....

The Cometics are great, and yes pricey. But you’ll never buy another set.
Another good one is the Mr Gasket Ultra seals, they’ve worked well for me too.
